Yes, they had some funk when Stuart was with them, he was the only decent person in that whole band and is a very talented player. I could give less than a fuck about that band without him in it.

He is doing well now as well, playing with Mark Ronson and he did the bass on that Amy Winehouse cover of "Valerie" and the Lily Allen cover of "Oh My God".

Yes, yes and yes again!!!! Well chuffed that someone has put this post up as I've actually dug out all my Jamiroquai CDs and brought them into to work to listen to them today!!

Jay Kay may come across as a bit of a berk in the press sometimes (and I'm not going to comment on that as I don't know the man) but he is a superb song writer and his band funked hard!! All his albums have a least a handful of great funky tunes, though some are indeed better than others. Being a musician as well, I second the comments of my fellow Orger who knows quality when he hears it...this band are truly underrated and should get props for the funky cats that they are.

More power to you Jay Kay!!!

I agree with the original poster. Jamiroquai made some great stuff from 1993-1996, but after that they just became a cheesy disco group. Very annoying. But early tunes like "Too Young To Die" and "Return Of The Space Cowboy" still stand up as just great tracks.

Much to the contrary, this is the epitome of the crap that made music derivative and boring in the 90s.

As I said earlier,Jamiroquai is like a modern-day Chic,Heatwave,Kleeer,Skyy,etc.They're keeping that disco/funk sound alive and I thank them for that.It's certainly more refreshing and funkier than the shit hop crap that dominates American radio these days.
