'00s song of the day: Metronomy / Heartbreaker (Live)

Metronomy / Heartbreaker (Live in Turin)

"I heard she broke your heart again, I heard she broke your heart."

[ With so much of the overblown Ed Banger approach (which I call "the 'Krak' sound") cluttering dancefloors these days, it makes me hold dearly a time when emphasis in the indie dance scene was more on creating discernable, real grooves rather than trying to keep up with or outfox Justice. A song that fondly rekindles the last few years before the usurpation is a tune by Metronomy called "Heartbreaker." The band recently added a live performance version of the tune on their myspace player and it's every bit of disco delicious. The guitar licks, the groove and the overall feel of the tune just agree with my spirit. ]
