I can't believe you got them for $7.99. You didn't get to listen to them first? Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Even if you don't want to download the entire album, samples are all over!
MJB's album is avaibale on Itunes for $9.99 with three bonus tracks. I'm not a fan of buying albums when they are available in stores, but that is tempting!

I listened to Butch Keys online, but for some reason I thought it would sound better in my sound system (and I wanted to see the photos ) and wanted to read the liner notes. I've never been a fans of hers. I wanted to choke her after hearing Songs In A Minor I liked Mary's last album and thought this one would be good. Dumb me

Dumb me Sometimes I think albums will sound better too, once I have them in my stereo or car but it's rarely the case. I have to really be convinced to buy an album these days. I sampled both AK and MJB online and was not impressed even a little bit. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

This is why CD are going straight down the crapper, "albums" today are shit. Singles are coming back in a big way in the next couple of years, maybe sooner. These so-called artist today (or should I say the producers) don't know how to create an album. A hit single, maybe, but not an album.

I actually miss singles. I remember back in day buying 45s, maxi singles, etc. I remember when a single could go platinum by itself. I miss those days

Music is a luxury and we're on the verge of a recession. Buying an album where 3 out of 12-14 tracks might be good makes me feel like I'm getting screwed. If I'm really crazy about a song from a shaky artist, I may buy the single but not the whole album. If an artist wants me to buy their CD, make a better more cohesive album. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I miss those days We used to take our allowance money and run straight to the record shop, LOL! They should bring back the singles because not that many of these younger artists are capable of creating an album's worth of quality songs anyway. I love Celine. Alicia will never be Celine. Celine will bang her chest and out sing her like nobody's business Celine can blow, no doubt. It's just that her style is too sappy for me. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I don't have either. But I have everything else by Mary. What's so awful about the new one? Is it worse than Love and Life?

Tell me more about why the new one sucks so bad. It's indistinguishable from most stuff on the radio. I like Work That, Grown Woman and Just Fine is just fine. Roses is also good, but much of the other material isn't very memorable.

personally what i think you will see in the next few years is singles for the "ringtone" artists and still albums from the older wider appealing artists. I think too there is going to be some kind of restrictions for album artists having more control over the way their albums are sold through iTunes, example, selling each track for 99 cents i think alot of artists who are doing albums are going to start holding back from iTunes basically. I know everyone is going apeshit over the Beatles going "digital" though im not sure why because they are going to be re-releasing all their cds expanded later in 2008, the digital stuff will be sold as albums not tracks, which i think is a better way, to learn their music if you dont know it. However i dont think i would complaining about paying 7.99, i just was going through some vinyl and i found more shit that i put down 8 dollars on that i just couldnt believe, and that was vinyl and some of the 12" mixes good lord, 5 bucks a pop just for a mix. To me i would like to see the return of the single and no im not talking that one download for 99 cent shit, im talking the real thing, bonus track not on albums, mixes, live cuts, lose this 99 cent junk, we're creating the one "ringtone" wonder generation. She's in a good mood, that's what's wrong....Whenever Mary is "Happy", the albums that she puts out are usually, shyt. In order for her to give us good music, she has to depressed.... As for Alicia, she has fallen, into the "If it isn't broken, let me fuck it up, until it is, syndrome. Jill Scott, fell into the same trap, with her second CD, after that brilliant debut, IMO.
