Mike's 40th anniversary as a star coming up next year

And to celebrate MJ 40, here's the first taped performance of a nine-year-old kid named Michael Joseph Jackson. Before "Off the Wall", before "Thriller", before MTV, before post-its, this is what made Michael special:

Man, that was amazing. He had the James Brown moves/footwork down packed even way back then. Mike's spins were nice and smooth. He knew what he was doing cool
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Man, I wish their was more footage from pre-Motown Jackson 5. Well, their actually would e as they were supposed to perform on The Jack Frost Show in June of '68. They canceled and instead auditioned for Motown (the clip you see right here.)

I'd say they were stars by the fall of '67., they were performing with the big boys and girls at the Apollo, Regal Theater (where Gladys Knight discovered them), Uptown in Philly and the Howard Theater.
