once you get a feel
for her material

I suggest you start with the debut album
and hear all the full albums
up til Let's Hear It For The Boy

you'd enjoy the album tracks a whooole lot
if you're like me...
it's like EW+F albums
(well This Is Niecy and Songbird are)
but only Niecy on lead vocals

sorta like
Stevie is to early Syreeta
Larry G. is to Betty Davis
Saadiq is to Joss Stone's latest

I'ma sucker for musicianship

I got a feel for her material back when the songs were new. I just haven't thought about her in forever. But I was definitely tempted to get the full albums.. We'll see.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think a lot of them are available on CD. Niecy is for sure.

New on Amazon.

$7.04 - IMPORTCDS
$7.05 - CAIMAN

I've had good luck with both sellers.

And the "jacking" stops here. wink

@EC - oh so you're already a fan
I thought you were a newbie highfive

@Rip - you know what... you're right
This Is Niecy & My Melody
are probably the easiest to get a hold of on CD...

Songbird is available on CD
(as import though, and for ridiculous prices)

When Love Comes Calling is available
import CD also (once again crazy prices)

if you're like me, you own a turntable
and frequent "da wrecka stow"
they are much easier to find on vinyl
for between $2-$10 bucks...

I saw a mint copy of WLCC in Texas
a few weeks back for like $3 bucks
too bad I paid like $10 bucks for my copy

NIECY (the one produced by Thom Bell)
I'm not sure if that is easy to access
I have the vinyl also

most of her early stuff though
I just found vinyl rips online

I love this woman
funny thing though
I couldn't really get into
her latest offering
I sampled a few of the tracks
and they did nothing for me

I'll have to give it another spin soon
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."
