Funkadelic "DISS" record I was just listening to the song LETS TAKE IT TO THE STAGE by Funkadelic..is that the first "diss" record recorded?
They make fun of "Fool and the Gang", "Dufus"(Rufus), "The God Mother/Grandfather"(The God Father-James Brown),"Slick and the Family Prick(Sly and the Family Stone), Earth Hot Air and No Fire(EWF) Has anyone heard this song before? Is there any other funk diss records out there from the 70's?

I'm not sure about it being the first diss record, it's sloofus, and slick and the family brick.

Nah, George Clinton worships JB.
It sounded to me like a tongue-in-cheek record, as opposed to a "Diss" record. If wanna hear DISS records, you should hear what Shirley Brown, Barbara Mason, Betty Davis and Richard "Dimples" Fields sang about EACH OTHER. I tell ya, its like a Soul soap opera on WAX

Also, do you remember when some r&b girl in the 90's remade "Woman To Woman" and Shirley Brown did a song back to her called "You Aint Woman Enough?"

Yep, it was Death Row's diva Jewell cool rendition, but Shirley didn't need a follow-up. You wanna hear something funny? This is Barbara Mason's diss to Dimples... Pay attention to the lyrics although, I'm pretty sure you're already fimiliar with it.

George had stated before that the tune and the album was dedicated to their boogie funk competition So it pretty much was a diss tune... EWF wasn't thrill about it at that time.. He also takes a jab at Doobie Brothers on P.Funk (Want To Get Funked Up)
