I thought he "didn't like pop music" at one point. Mike always say shit that get misconstrued but I'm just saying. I have no idea. Perhaps to associate himself with singers that his children know. Whatever the reason is, neither of us should worry about it or complain since neither of us is part of the target audience. We already have Thriller. We already know that MJ used to be huge. I haven't heard yet from Mike that Prince, Paris and Blanket were into songs like "Where is the Love", "It Don't Matter", "Fergalicious" and/or "Stronger". I kept hearing that while he was still living in Never Again Land, he had classical music playing all the time, lol. Why don't he get his kids to listen to the real shit!?! You know be like any middle-aged parent for just a minute and go "this is what me and your uncles and aunts were listening to growing up, y'all don't know nothin' about this!"

And also like bboy just said, why don't Mike release old tours that were taped (Triumph, Victory, Bad) and release them to VHS/DVD/whatever new format it's out there that it can be released on.
And then re-release "Off the Wall" with the people who helped to enrich Marvin's "Here, My Dear", then come out with the performances. The kids never were around to see Michael performing because his last tour ended upon Michael, Jr. being born.

But again, there is nothing we can do about this release. It is obviously not for people like us who have his old albums.

Of course, no one was gonna stop Mike from doing what he wants to do but it doesn't mean I have to lap it up, lol.

Dude wrote some great songs but Mike was shitting all over him on all their duets. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

The demo is awesome. Way better than the cheesy production that was done on the final product. What was Q thinking with The Girl Is Mine? He turned a potentially good song into one of the cheesiest things ever put on record.

I'm really dreading the remixes, I hate fixing what isn't broken.

How is a remix a fix? The point of a remix is not to improve on the original. The point is to mix it differently so it's suitable for clubs, commercial radio or update it for a modern audience. The remixes are not replacing the originals. The original album is the main part of Thriller 25. The remixes are bonus tracks. Secondary to the original recordings.

I don't believe Michaels music needs to be modernized. Its classic for a reason. You hear the bassline in Billie Jean and you automatically know its Michael. Thriller didn't get to be the best selling album of all time for no reason. It doesn't need to be remixed, not for anyone. The music doesnt age. [Edited 12/18/07 21:55pm]
