eek OMG! eek OMG! eek OMG! You did it AGAIN. Our similar tatste in music is starting to spook me boxed . you keep coming up with all these things I love that a lot of folks would consider a little obscure lol

Do you know I actually saw the tour of Dianne Schuur with the Count Basie Orchestra?! I was a teenager and I saw that show with my dad (who LOVES that woman), and I can imitate every one of those songs note.for.note. lol . Later as an adult I also ended up meeting Joe Williams, who actually did the Basie tour with her. My ex played with him the last show before his passing (I think at his home in Las Vegas sad ). Do you know that he was so elegant, the man wore monogrammed velvet loafers? The last thing I heard him humming (we were talking about his tour with Ms. Schuur and the Basie band) was Schuur's "We'll be Together Again cloud9

I like you!worship

I love to hear that you actually saw the show, it must have been an experience... She`s on fire when she sings "Climbing higher mountain"

eek when was this released?? I gotta have this!!

It wasn't new. I paid like $40 on ebay for it. It had been going for $80 to $100. I didn't think $40 was too bad. I also just picked up this on ebay for $30:

I really love the Throwin' Down album. Too bad I had to buy Street Songs again.

I love those Motown two-fers!

Motown helped distribute Kudu or something, so I have a two-fer from that same sort of series with the ugly cover and shrinked down and tilted album art of
Grover Washington Jr. Mister Magic/Feels So Good

I remember reading in Berry Gordy's book that he was upset when Motown issued those 2-fer cds. He was upset because it messed up his profit margin.

CD's

I mean these are the "current music"
albums I've purchased... (as you can see
it's not very many)
I've basically been focusin on
re-buying albums that were lost in the mix
over the years (that cotdamn amazon.com is the DEVIL!!!)
I rebought Ms Jade's Girl Interrupted
Pharrell's In My Mind, Lil' Kim's Notorious K.I.M.
etc etc etc...
my $$$ usually goes towards stuff
I KNOW I will enjoy
I don't take chances on music anymore
(with my coins)
I'll download that shit first

NOW... to the interesting part
I'd be here all day
listing vinyls I've purchased
within the past month

the most recent & important ones though
are the Vanity 6 & Apollonia 6 albums
I also found The Glamourous Life on vinyl too

some others I can remember
off the top of my head...
The Pointer Sisters
That's A Plenty (Pointer Sisters)
Innervisions (Stevie W.)
Songs In The Key of Life (Stevie W.)
Hello, I Must Be Going (Phil Collins)
Phoebe Snow
Against The Grain (Phoebe Snow)
Whitney
Busy Body (Luther V)
Give Me The Reason (Luther V)
Forever, For Always, For Love (Luther V)
On The Rise (The SOS Band)
SOS (The SOS Band)
The Hissing Of Summer Lawns (Joni Mitchell)
there's others, I'd have to
get home & get settled
then dig through my crates
to finish the list
but I got most of those for $1 a piece
(except Joni, the Luthers, & SITKOL)

next I'll probably be purchasing
some MJB vinyl (new singles "Just Fine" & "Work That")
and that Erykah Badu VLS
for her new single "Honey"
I also saw a VLS for Chaka&Mary's "Disrespectful"
that I'd love to have
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

Like, Motown should have released them all separately? I agree actually.

Steve Hackett - Wild Orchids
