Nine albums in three months? I buy that many albums like each week or something LOL. I used 2 buy 5 to 6 cds/albums a week, but I realized that my bank account would be fatter if I didn't buy as many. Now I pick and choose what I buy. I still buy about 1 or 2 releases a week. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Several of the songs are 'singles', not the 12-inch versions. Motown, in their infinite wisdom, apparently decided to squeeze as much as they could with this 2 on 1 CD. So, in order to accomplish that goal, they used the 'single' versus the 'album' version of songs (e.g., "Flying High"). I bought the albums Natural High and Midnight Magic as a teen. The albums are great!! This Disc, especially given today's technology - is an unfortunate throwback to when they could get a maximum of 74 minutes onto a compact disc (anybody remember that infamous Prince disc where they had to leave off "DMSR"? This is the same case!). Keep your money in your pocket! Five stars for the Commodores and their music on both albums - but three stars for the 'chopped up' disc! I know how Motown is when it comes to releasing classic albums on CD.They sometimes don't use the full-length versions I have an import copy of the Commodores 'Hot On The Tracks' CD and for some crazy reason, the song "High On Sunshine" is edited!! Wtf?? It's missing the entire second verse!! Apparently, they were gonna release this song as a single in 1976,but they cancelled those plans. This CD contains that single edit. That's totally unacceptable.

Our similar tatste in music is starting to spook me . you keep coming up with all these things I love that a lot of folks would consider a little obscure Do you know I actually saw the tour of Dianne Schuur with the Count Basie Orchestra?! I was a teenager and I saw that show with my dad (who LOVES that woman), and I can imitate every one of those songs note.for.note. . Later as an adult I also ended up meeting Joe Williams, who actually did the Basie tour with her. My ex played with him the last show before his passing (I think at his home in Las Vegas ). Do you know that he was so elegant, the man wore monogrammed velvet loafers? The last thing I heard him humming (we were talking about his tour with Ms. Schuur and the Basie band) was Schuur's "We'll be Together Again [Edited 12/18/07 2:45am]

I haven't bought anything in so long though... But I did decide to treat myself to something from Amazon for Christmas, so I was thinking of something from Joni, the newest Jill Scott, and piano music from Litz & Chopin...and, at the moment, someone's in my office here at the house transcribing music from the latest Chaka Kahn and it's sounding kinda niiiice .... Um,okay, I guess I'll be adding that too
