Al had a Prince sensibility in his production work, back then. I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it

Keep in mind that, though my parents are decidely old school in their musical tastes, I listened to a lot of MTV-formatted/Top 40 music in middle school and high school. Wasn't until high school that I began to turn my ears more toward r&b. But I still couldn't bring myself to listen to slow jams or "The Quiet Storm." That still isn't my cup of tea. And, it's on "Quiet Storm"-type shows that Roberta's version likely got the most airplay.

Nothing can top the original for me, but I love Al's version. He really [Randy_Jackson] made it his own [/R_J]. I love all of In Effect Mode, every single from the other albums ("Missunderstanding," "No Matter What You Do," "Had Enuff," "Right Now," and "Natalie"), and his two big guest appearances, "Somebody for Me" and "Secret Garden." Man, you aint neva lied. I remember his Appollo appearance and that shit was awful. Kyle West made Al sound like the bomb. Kyle should have won some award for just that alone. [Edited 12/15/07 4:57am]

[Edited 12/13/07 12:20pm] That one kills me! "In Effect Mode" is a rather great album.
