Al B. Sure Appreciation Thread!

Yes, I know he's often talked about around here but why not do it again? biggrin His debut album In Effect Mode is the shit. I can listen to it all the way through without skipping a track. I also prefer his version of Killing me softly to Lauren Hill's. Does anyone kno what he's up to these days? These new r&b dudes can't touch Al B.

I really enjoyed his 2nd cd, Private Times and the Whole 9 as much as the 1st cd. I really loved "Hotel California", "No Matter What You Do", and "Missunderstanding".

On the 1st cd, ALL OF THE SLOW CUTS were excellent. I also loved "If I'm Not Your Lover" (Remix).

Appreciate what. Him being a deadbeat dad. Diddy raising one kid who looks exactly like Al B and the boy calls Diddy dad. No telling who else his other kids are calling dad.

The only thing I appreciate about him is his looks. And I can't even fully appreciate his looks because those damn clothes keep covering them up. lol

I like his first album."Off On Your Own Girl" is his best song, imo headbang I also like "Ooh This Love Is So" and "If I'm Not Your Lover".

Didn't like the follow-up album 'Private Times...And The Whole 9'.It was too long, too bloated with waaaayyyy too much filler. And that remake of "Hotel California"? disbelief

I don´t get that...how can he sound good on record and really horrible live ? I mean, this was way before Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias and all them other people who improved their singing voices with the help of modern technology.

I saw it too. It's a good thing he wasn't one of the singers auditioning in the talent contest, Cuz Sandman Sims would've tap-danced all over his @$$.

His was the first version of "Killing Me Softly" that I ever heard. And, it's still my favorite. Love the drum programming. Al had a Prince sensibility in his production work, back then.
