I heart The Emancipation of Mimi. A true return to form for Mariah, I thought.

With the exception of Fly like a bird, Say something, and Get Your number, this album was nothing memorable, despite having one of her biggest hits ever in We Belong Together, sometimes a hit doesnt mean its a good song, as we clearly saw from Shake it Off which was a number 2 and was possibly Mariahs most un-memorable hits. With each album there seems to be more and more filler, tracks with nelly and twista and camron and jay z on the last two albums are pure nonsense. Mariah, though i love her to death, might go down as the biggest "selling" female in history without ever doing a really good album beginning to end. I think everyone can agree that top to bottom she hasnt done that kind of album.

"Shake It Off" was so appalling I still don't understand how it ever got released, let alone made number 2 in America.

Nothing memorable? Most fans I've come across--in person, on line and at the concert--loved this album, in it's entirety, fillers and all. If it’s not their favorite it’s certainly in the top 5 or so. I'd say it's a complete album altho I know alot of folks love Butterfly, as do I.

I don't know if she's ever gonna do the kind of album you want from her. She could do it but does she want to, is that what she sees for herself at this point, I don’t know. I’ve accepted that she’s gonna keep with the collabos and some of the more hooky songs because that’s what she likes and surprisingly I like it too.

Well some artists just dont have it in them and thats just a flaw of theirs, i mean Mariah to me will always give you 75%, thats how i view her and always have from day one and its like that with alot of artists. Shes rumoured to have 22 tracks for this new album and is going to cut it down to 10-12 tracks, my hope is that she is really going with the strongest stuff, i mean even if she only does a 9 track album just make all of them good. The thing also with her album cuts is when you hear a title of a song that wasnt a "hit" you have to think what album is that on? thats a big flaw, if an album is memorable you know it top to bottom. I dont really know what to expect from her next record, i heard from one person who saw her at a signing for her perfume in upstate ny that when she drove off they heard a new song of hers playing and they said wow it was good, it sounded like "rihanna". All i thought was here we go again

I have to disagree with you on that one. The Emancipation of Mimi is the 1st Mariah CD that I could listen to and liked from start to finish. Mariah did the damn thing on that CD. Butterfly was a close 2nd.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I think one thing that will always get in the way of her output quality is her love of all things cheesy combined with her love of glam and hip hop. So we get an odd but sometimes appealing potpourri. She has the ability to do so much more if she chooses but since she actually does have a bit of say in what she’s doing rather than being a straight puppet, we’ll probably continue to get these sort of songs/albums.

I always thought a life change would do her lovely. Marriage to a really wonderful man who truly loves her, I can’t imagine her as a mother but you know a shift in her personal life could bring forth different music. Or maybe she’ll just grow the heck up.

I've been telling people for years that she needs to marry me! love hug kisses love2 But my friends keep telling me that she'd never date me. Buy that's only because she hasn't gotten to know my wonderful personality and impeccable character yet, not to mention my lovemaking skills. oral boff 69 tonk

With Timbaland, Danja & Justin, Madonna has the chance to win everywhere, including the USA. I really doubt Mariah can repeat the same success as The Emancipation Of Mimi.
