I wouldn't go that far. But he did have a great aggressive technique and definitely influenced a lot of us.

Aah, everything I hate in a guitar player. lol

In days gone by, LOUD would've gotten a pass.
However, contemporary guitar amp designs allow you to get that same overdriven/sustaining sound without the excessive volume. headache
