So it looks like by early January the Eagles may sell 3 Million

Having just past the 2.2 million mark this week the Eagles are almost passing the years number one album "Daughtry" despite the fact that his album had all year to sell and the Eagles have had about 5+ weeks. If averages continue the Eagles will sell 3 million by January with ease, another noble feat considering their age, no airplay, no videoplay for the most part, and no iTunes either. And also this double album does NOT count double due to its list price, its only counted as a single sale. Oh yeah lets not forget, their not signed either.

Doesn't stop them being boring as hell LOL. I heard some of their new tracks on the radio, they just limber on, without going anywhere. Slick as fuck, but as they say "slick with no kick".

Well cant change how some view there music but i will say that the 10+ minute title track "Long Road out of eden" features some of the best guitar solos that i have heard in a real long time, i wish Prince would play that way on record again.

Iam pretty sure they hit no.1 album charts in the UK too. A first for them I think (gotta remember, Eagles did pretty much bugger all compared to their american popularity)

Sorta reminded me of latter day Asia. Its so slick and so well produced, but I I bet it all sounds the same. I like some latter day Asia, but only in small doses.

It doesn't surprise me since, the Eagles fanbase is white, over 45 year old and loyal...

The Eagles is the top ten biggest selling group in US... And it's their first studio release since the 70's...

Exactly the kind of people that would pay for music...

I also think its a testament to not needing the hype machine to get you into a spotlight. For the most part this was a quiet release, mainly because there was no label behind it. I think the Eagles did one interview (CBS 60 minutes) and that really was it. I think the fact that its there first in almost 30 years is even a bigger surprise with sales, sure they are one of the biggest "selling" groups ever but most of times sales wane down, and people dont wanna hear the new "stuff", its like when you go to a concert and the artist says "this is from our new record" they start to play and people get up to get a beer (never understood this tradition).
