George Michael's Faith - something I just noticed after twenty years

I'm surprised I didn't catch on since Wham's Make It Big was so engrained into my DNA/early childhood....

The intro to "Faith" is the melody to "Freedom" (1984 composition). eek

My fam had the "Faith" 45 and used to jam that too, so it really has been twenty full years until I realized this. redface

Was this as obvious to everyone else? lol

I think once you see a song titled "Freedom '90", you have to do some investigating, ya know? lol

Don't feel bad about it, Cin.
I, myself, probably won't notice it for yet another twenty years or so.

I can't believe anyone wouldn't notice this...

Having said that, it was only a few weeks ago that I noticed the organ intro to Faith and the organ intro to Where The Streets Have No Name are very similar. Seriously, I was listening to the Joshua Tree re-master and 30 seconds in I expected to hear George Michael's acoustic guitar.

And both songs/albums came out in 1987.

I've noticed that this song sucks more and more each decade, but still makes me feel real gay whenever I sing along with it.

it was called Freedom 90', cause Wham also has a song called Freedom.

I remember hearing Faith all the time in kindergarten on the radio
