I was one of the people concerned about her not working with JJ and TL but after hearing this song, I can FINALLY breath a sigh of relief. None of us know where this next CD is going but this song is a sign that it's going in the right direction. Feedback single handedly knock the dog shit out of Damita Jo and 20 Y.O. Man I'm just too happy! I've played it 3 times already and I texted my friend to go and hear this song. February's shaping up to be a BIG month and to that I say, BRING IT ON!!!!! [Edited 12/12/07 18:35pm] [Edited 12/12/07 18:36pm] I'm really happy for Janet... I think this is a strong track... been bumping it since i got home..I'm happy that you like it too Dude the feeling is mutual. I was in a very low place with Janet. I thought she was finished. This song woke me up from my sleep! I hope it's a hit for Janet. She needs this and now I can finally say that I'm excited for the next album. I hope that Vocoder isn't that prominent on the CD but that's another story. Of the few albums that I know coming out in 2008, this is the one I'm ready for the most, with Mariah 2nd but I don't want to turn it into a Mariah thread since it's already gone that route. This was a great way to end the day. [Edited 12/12/07 18:44pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Eh.
People will like it, and so I'm happy for Janet. Does nothing for me. I anticipate a hot video, though. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Janet has always been more of a dance pop star with a little r and b feel, than an r and b artist. More MTV than BET which is one of the reason 20YO did not work for her. Janet does not have the vocal ability like Mariah to carry Jermaine Dupree's hip hop/randb tracks. This song is her element, it fits her singing style and it works for her. I am also glad that this time out, unlike Damita Jo and 20YO, her first single is dance club and not a ballad or mid tempo. I hope the video is hot. For her cd, I hope its a dance cd, lay off the x rated lyrics, kill the interludes(they were cute on Velvet Rope, now they are annoying), and save the "baby making music" for the end like she used to. I can see the queens carrying on at the club to this song. It's a definate club banger. "POOR IS THE MAN WHO'S PLEASURES DEPEND ON THE PERMISSION OF ANOTHER" Madonna

I have a feeling from the lyrics of this song Janet is sticking to what she loves. Sex. At best, the music she puts it to will be better. I do hope she'll make classic slow jams again altho I can't imagine her doing good slow jams with anybody but Jam & Lewis.
I hope the video is hot hot hot. If so, I think it will push this song far. I have heard that some folks don't like it and while it's not the best song ever, it's so much better than what she's been putting out I can't be mad. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Waaaaay back on the first page of this thread, I said it reminded me a little of "Sexyback" in that the beat was nice if nothing else. I can see it being a hit despite it's lack of substance. It's a zillion times better than "Call On Me"

I am glad so many of you like it. What is amazing is that she seems to have reignited interest in many of the people who had given up on her forever. Not all of them, because you can't please everyone, but a LOT of them. For example, I know Scorpion, Isel, purplecam, and JackieBlue were not really that enthused with the product from the last few albums.
I am not worried about the lyrical content. It's not porny, so it doesn't bug me. This is a first single and who knows what the rest of the album has in store for us? She needed a hit, and like it or not, singing about sociopolitical issues doesn't get you a hit these days.
