This sounds really contemporary, but still doesn't sound like she's chasing trends. And anyway, Brit and Rihanna have bitten off Janet's sound/style in the past that it's only right that she gets in on their sound. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

My favorite line! I haven't heard a Janet single so hook-laden since All Nite (Don't Stop)...if radio isn't all over this, there's no doubt the fix is in. No excuse for them to ignore it. [Edited 12/12/07 13:01pm]

[Edited 12/12/07 13:01pm] When they were describing 20 YO and saying that "So Excited" was gonna be the big dance hit we all were waiting for, I was expecting something more like this... Still not as good as All Nite, though. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Still not as good as All Nite, though. That line is hot! Honest to God,I can’t even remember how So Excited goes. There was no way I could dance to that song, at least not with real feeling. I love those kinda grooves that make you pause mid-sip or mid-sentence, put down your drink or whatever and walk to the dance floor with a purpose. All Nite was one and I think this could be another. Even her delivery is better. I hear the attitude and life in this (something completely lacking from Britney). And the way she’s been looking lately it’s easy to believe every word in this song. Well she's actually not mumbling in this one so that's definitely a good thing b/c I can actually understand what she's saying for once. Overall, I'm impressed! This song is hot. Mixed feelings, though it is more of a standout than any past singles from the last two records, im still not hearing what is seperating her from the pack of other females, the fault of that lies in the production. It does sound like a "commercial" hit but its nothing that someone else couldnt do. Regardless of others that bite off her style, she shouldnt lower it to that level. Overall, its catchy but nothing new nothing memorable, oh well just make a hot video and all will be forgotten. (thats the line i use with anything Mariah does at this point too) "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I never really understood any comparions with Madonna and Janet? Outside of being two iconic figures from the last decade that really had icons. Janet to me at least for the last 10 years or so is more RB leaning than her early Pop sounds, where as Madonna has become more Dance than early pop days. I dont think the two will ever really compete in the same forum.
