You know what makes this even more exciting is that it came out of nowhere, at least with me. I heard the rumblings but I didn't put any faith in it but now that it's happening, it's like an explosion. It's great, Janet better ride this thing on out. She so deserves all the success that's just starting to come back to her. I'm back on Team Janet again!!!!

Janet has always been more of a dance pop star with a little r and b feel, than an r and b artist. More MTV than BET which is one of the reason 20YO did not work for her. Janet does not have the vocal ability like Mariah to carry Jermaine Dupree's hip hop/randb tracks. This song is her element, it fits her singing style and it works for her. I am also glad that this time out, unlike Damita Jo and 20YO, her first single is dance club and not a ballad or mid tempo. I hope the video is hot. For her cd, I hope its a dance cd, lay off the x rated lyrics, kill the interludes(they were cute on Velvet Rope, now they are annoying), and save the "baby making music" for the end like she used to. I can see the queens carrying on at the club to this song. It's a definate club banger.

Exactly. Before 20 Y.O. or even Damita Jo, it seems like Janet usually took the backdoor approach. She never fully announce anything but when she did, it happened all on one day like BAM!

Or anything related to "swaggering," for God's sake. To me it means "hiding out while wearing sweatpants with lots of TiVoed Law & Order at the ready." Or "do I really have to get out of bed for the sole purpose of sitting in front of my computer for ten hours?" Or "pass the Advil." Or "please don't touch me because I might burst into tears at any moment." Although... you know, given the rough couple of years that she's had--the Super Bowl, the Dupri-ing, and the stinkeriffic 20 Y.O.--that last scenario may be the case. This song may be a cry for help!

Anyway, to help remind Janet that she has the potential to be awesome, and that she can be sexy without saying the word "sexy" 200 times in the space of four minutes, I present the below video. Also, Jimmy and Terry, if you are reading this, can't you help out your former protege in her time of need? She's obviously in a very bad way. Perhaps you can even get her together with Mya, and the two of them can pow-wow over unfortunate lady-related lyrical metaphors.
