The Moments

I've seen them at previous oldies shows and they never disappoint. They usually begin their set with "Special Lady" (their 1980 hit when they were known as Ray,Goodman and Brown) before launching into classics like "Not On The Outside","Look at Me I'm In Love" and of course,"Love On A Two-Way Street".I'm hoping that, this time, they perform "Sexy Mama".

ray goodman and brown ARE STILL ray goodman and brown, they haven't gone back to being the moments....if a show is advertsing the moments, be wary..you might get three old guys in name only, like heatwave now.

perhaps you didn't read my report from the summer when the lead singer for blue magic came out FRIED/SLOSHED in DC...nearly knocked the drums over, almost fell off the stage twice and sounded like al b sure singing opera. cleared the whole arena out in 10 m ins flat.

Hopefully,he will have his act together for the February 16 show that I'm attending lol I saw Blue Magic several years ago and they were great.

BTW, the only SURE bets on these oldies shows are the stylistics, manhattans ,ray goodman and brown (aka the moments) and enchantment. all other acts are spotty, at best

I'm gonna make a Top 10 list of the best performers at these shows, based on previous shows that I attended:

*Deniece Williams---when she appears at one of these shows, get your tickets asap.Trust me on this!

*The Moments

*GQ---it's really just the lead singer/guitarist,but he puts on a superb performance.

*Rose Royce---but only when it's the complete, full band

*Tierra

*Heatwave---their set is much too brief ("Boogie Nights","Always and Forever" and "The Groove Line") but the performance is excellent! Would love it if they had more time to perform a few other songs.

*Barbara Mason---she's great, and very funny too.During "Yes,I'm Ready",she picks a guy from the audience, brings him onstage, and practically seduces him right there and then, lol. It's hilarious.

*The Manhattans---these guys are true professionals.

*Bloodstone

*Evelyn King---has alot of energy!! She dances up a storm.

these clips are bringing back alot of fun memories lol

Good clip! I even watched a couple of the other links from that page. I just saw Zapp this past weekend! They put on a really good show, but I still miss Roger. cry That Big Robb is a mess! biggrin I hear he does a blues show on his own as well. They're still bringing the funk!

I'm amazed at how great Zapp is in concert, despite losing Roger. When Roger died,I thought they were insane to continue performing, but I've been pleasantly surprised by their shows. They were the highlight of last year's oldies show in my area.

Big Robb is CRAZY! lol He does the silliest stunts onstage.

Blue Magic, The Floaters, Eddie Holman... man, I'd love to see that show cool

The Floaters are cool.I saw them last year. They begin their set with a version of Peabo Bryson's 1991 hit "Can You Stop The Rain",then follow up with a version of Luther Vandross' "Bad Boy/Having A Party".Then, finally they launch into their own hit "Float On".

Ray, Goodman and brown? that would be a neat trick since Harry ray died quite a long time ago

As Finess just pointed out,Harry Ray died a long time ago. So,it probably makes more sense for them to continue calling themselves The Moments.
