"Warm Ride" by the Bee Gees---where did this song come from? On the newly remastered 'Bee Gees Greatest' compilation, there is a previously unreleased song called "Warm Ride"...
http://www.youtube.com/wa...VgJBJHw2p8 Apparently, the liner notes contain no information about when this song was recorded and for what album.I think it sounds like it's from the 'Children Of The World' era,1976.I like it alot Does anyone know the story behind it?

It was recorded at the same time as the Fever material, spring/summer '77.

Seriously? I wonder is it an outtake from the soundtrack All the Fever songs were recorded for the studio album that was to follow Children Of The World until requests for the movie came in. Warm Ride was probably intended for that album also.

I always wondered how far they got with that album.Looks like they completed the entire thing.I wonder why the recently released 'SNF' soundtrack doesn't include the outtakes? I heard that "Stayin Alive" was originally titled "Saturday Night".

No idea. Hopefully some of them will turn up on a bonus disc for one of the remastered mid to late 70s albums. I heard that "Stayin Alive" was originally titled "Saturday Night".

I always disliked the Bee Gees' own version of "If I Can't Have You"
It pales in comparison to the excellent version by Yvonne Elliman. The producer (Freddie Perren) did an excellent job.

I think it works better being sung by a female. In the movie,it was sorta like Annette's theme song She wanted Tony so bad but he didn't love her.

They were going to offer it to Abba.

'Warm Ride' was submitted to Roger Daltrey for one of his solo albums. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page
