Late Quiet Riot singer died of accidental coke overdose

Quiet Riot singer died of overdose - Yahoo! News

LAS VEGAS - The death last month of Kevin Dubrow, lead singer for the 1980s heavy metal band Quiet Riot, has been ruled an accidental cocaine overdose.

Clark County coroner spokeswoman Samantha Charles confirmed the cause Monday after toxicology results were received Monday.

Dubrow was found dead Nov. 25 at his Las Vegas home. He was 52.

Quiet Riot was perhaps best known for its 1983 cover of "Cum On Feel the Noize". The song, featuring Dubrow's powerful, gravelly voice, appeared on the band's first album "Metal Health" - which was the first by a metal band to reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart.

Dubrow released a solo album in 2004, "In for the Kill", and the band's last studio album, "Rehab", came out in October 2006.

I don't know how anyone could call drug deaths accidental unless they were pills and they were using it too much to try to get better. But I guess that's just me (and you lol ). shrug

Well "accidental" meaning he didn't take a massive overdose in order to commit suicide. Toxicology can determine if the amount in the bloodstream is equivalent to what a person might normally take to get high, as opposed to a deliberate overdose.

I guess there's no sympathy for drug users in some quarters.

Nah there is. I guess I was shocked that he was still using. I guess I don't know much about "accidental overdoses". shrug I don't think he was trying to kill himself though if that's what you're thinking. Sad shame we had to lose the guy to that stuff.

Yeah its like Ringo Starr said back in the day, everyone that they said killed themselves was more or less "just taking one too many" jimmy, janis, keith moon etc...Sometimes you just one too many, its easy to say its not possible to accidentally overdose, but you can do it with anything its all how your body and system reacts to it at the time.

Truth is its about as dangerous as stuff that a doctor would prescribe legally, like prozak or ambien.
