does anyone know if that was a sample? I am speaking of the bassline.

I don't think its a sample, but I know that several songs have used the same and/or similar bass line. "Ecstacy" from Barry White, and "Be Happy, (You To Be)" by R. Kelly come to mind.

On ASCAP's site, it shows the writers to be COMBS SEAN PUFFY, EVANS FAITH RENEE, THOMPSON CARL E.

yeah something about that song does remind me of ecstacy by barry, bit something else too and at the same time, I don't think it is. but since puffy is so used to sampling I figured it was possible. I am wondering also about the song by this rap group named group home who had a song called superstar. thanks folks for the help.
