Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Apparently Leonard Cohen will be inducted.

Now, don't get me wrong - I'm a Lenny fan - but how on earth does he go in before Lou Reed?! An argument can also be made that Tom Waits should have been inducted before LC.

I'd assumed Lou had been inducted solo years ago. confused

there are so many missing, how is Ronnie Lane/Small Faces not in there, true Tom Waits also seriously overlooked, he's influenced everyone from Norah Jones to Ryan Adams to Wilco.

Yeah Zappa got in a long time ago although, the HOF pissed off his family making them pay thousands of dollars per person to attend the ceremony.

My votes for the longest-overdue are Alice Cooper, Kiss and Genesis. There's three acts that moved the football pretty considerably.

How you know Leonard's gonna get inducted, Ace? hmmm

I've only heard that John was a surefire inductee.

Probably was all Jann Wenner's doing.

They really need to drop the Rock and Roll moniker.

I know. No progressos or metal pioneers in the Hall by executive order. Even Black Sabbath had to wait about 10 years after being eligible.

I have some amount of respect for RS' accomplishments thirty to forty years ago but they are no more credible as a Final Authority than anyone else.

Yeah Pat Benatar needs to be in there mainly because there isnt really ONE real rock female in the damn thing, they are either RB, Disco or Folkish, even Janis i wouldnt call a Rock singer so much, but there is a huge need for Pat Benatar, Joan Jett and Heart (ann and nancy wilson).

Ok, now we have these two confirmed:

John Mellencamp
Leonard Cohen

I don't know why but something is telling me Madonna WON'T get in.

Nevermind... I think I know what the other two are (and I think a certain British group and a certain disco BAND won't get in either again, lol!)

Who else? biggrin

All i know is that they better induct Chic or someone that Mellencamp can jam with at the end of the show, I mean Mellencamps band can tear it up but the finale jams are usually what people look for most of all and im just not seeing John and Madonna "jamming" though they are friends, she talked him into working with Junior Vasquez on one record

Yeah i have a feeling that they could do a funk/disco jam at the end of this show, if Chic/Summer get in also, and John can hold his own in "getting down"
