Wahaaay, the great Five Star. It's npt hard to see, but very few people acknowledge this, but Janet Jackson totally ripped off their sound!! Forget the Minneapolis Jam & Lewis production, Five Star were just 5 Janets with better vocals.

I was even listening to 'Rock My World' this afternoon smile

Lorraine was on Never Mind The Buzzcocks on BBC 2 last Monday. She's not aged well.

Hell yes! Wembley Arena, Children of the Nite Tour...1980 something or other...I think I was nine. They were fantastic. Lorraine was a bit of a letdown on the Buzzcocks, bless her. I knew about their comeback but I didn't know about any single releases! Any more news on that Chico319, let me know!

I love their 1985 song "Let Me Be The One"...

"We used to be together, making dreams, making plans
But you left that world behind
Now,I'm asking you,wontcha'

Let Me Be The One,you give your love to
(The one you need,baby,baby)
Let Me Be The One,you give your love to"

Their song 'Rain Or Shine' is one of those songs that you're not supposed to like, but I absolutely love it. Reminds me of my teenage years.

the album before "Eclipse" ( "Eclipse" features the song "Funktafied") is called "Heart and Soul"..it had their remake of "(I love you) for sentimental reasons".

Here's a listing of their albums..
"Luxury of Life"-1985
"Silk & Steel"-1986
"Between the Lines"-1987
"Rock the World"-1988
"Greatest Hits"-1989 (+ "Something about my Baby" and the hit "With every heartbeat" both non album tracks))
"5 Star"-1994 (this is a compilation on BMG records)
"Greatest Hits"-1998 (on Camden records)
"Five Star"-1990
"Shine"-1991
"Heart and Soul"-1994
"Eclipse"-2001

I recently read an interview with Denise that she and a couple of her siblings had met Prince, and that he had interest in recording or helping Denise with a solo project.
(is there any truth to this? not sure...would be awesome though..and yes, I did hear about the meeting with Michael Jackson...just so no one gets confused..hehehe)
