I don't see how Rihanna has better songs than Beyonce. confused And I don't mean to hate on Rihanna, but her voice doesn't come anywhere near Beyonce's. Not even in the same league.

I wasn't commenting on talent.

You may prefer Rihanna, and that's fine. But you really think "Umbrella" is THAT much better than "Crazy in Love" or "Naughty Girl?"

Yep, I definitely do. I thought Umbrella was one of the finest pop songs of 2007. Those two Beyonce songs were very repetitive after a while shrug

In terms of consistency, I find Good Girl Gone Bad a much more consistenly good collection of songs than either of Beyonce's albums.

I agree about Rihanna and her albums. She releases an album every year, but there's been major improvements with each album. I even like her ballads..

I can see why this didn't make her album, but it's a bonus/unreleased track and look at how nice it sounds.

Not to mention this song from her 2nd album.

I think Beyonce was in the right direction with Flaws and All. That's a really pretty and well executed song.

No, I just can't argue with you any more about who's better: Rhianna or Beyonce. Truth be told, I don't give a shit about either one of 'em. smile I'm just amazed at all the hate for Beyonce, even though I'm not even a fan of hers. I mean, unless I'm at a gay circuit party and "Independent Women" comes on. Then I throw down!

Ehhhh, I didn't think we were arguing, just offering our opinions. I don't hate Beyonce, but considering how overrated her music and talent are for what she is in the industry, I can't say I'm all that surprised at the hate on prince.org.

She doesn't get much play in the gay clubs I go to.

Same here. She should be given better material for her talent. It's obvious she didn't get to where she was thanks to her father, lol. Though it DID help. lol

The one thing about Beyonce is that she has talent, but also shit for brains (she is painful to listen to in interviews). Matthew and Tina have helped her enormously in terms of the business/management side of things.

I feel the same way. Beyonce is ok, but we see far too much of her and her music is starting to sound all the same. She needs to branch out a bit.

OMG, THIS IS SOOOOO FUNNY!!!! Her runs are the most annoying thing about her voice to me, and is used to cover her vocal limitations. Dang, just give me a basic whole note.

I think she was born to perform but why she gets so many props for her vocal ability have always confounded me.

Anyway, thanks for this video. lol

eek

Are you joking ???

her vocal limitations ??? LIMITATIONS ???

Tell me what kind of limitations does she have ???

And since you ask why she gets so many props for her vocal ability, tell me how many singers right now can outperform Beyonce ?

Wow, I go away for 24 hours and all hell breaks loose. lol

Anyway, I lot of people here have already said it for me.

Yes, I meant what I said. Her voice is limited and she tries to oversing to hide it. She has limited vocal control and that shows with practically every live performance I see. The lyrics to her songs, that she seems to get so many props for writing, are as shallow as a kiddie pool. And furthermore, if she had Kelly Rowland's skin tone would she be as big of a star as she is today with all of those endorsements?

And speaking of vocal ability, I'll take Fantasia, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Lil Mo, Faith Evans, and Kelly Price before Beyonce ANY DAY, yet Beyonce will more than likely end up in the history books before those wonderful singers, and that is a annoying shame.

Now with all of that said, I never said she couldn't sing and I do believe she was born to perform. It's just the hype around her is just something I don't understand. This woman will be in the books with Aretha, Patti, Glady's, Whitney, Chaka, and Roberta, and that bugs the hell out of me.

IMO, Ciara, Cassie, Fergie, Kelly Rowland, and Ashanti are far less talented than Beyonce vocal wise, but they have not been placed on the pedastal Beyonce has. Those ladies will probably never have a shot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but Beyonce will. Those ladies will probably never be eligible for a lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammy's but Beyonce will. Those ladies will more than likely never be called a legend but Beyonce will.So those ladies and a lot of the others out there now concern's me none because Beyonce is considered the Ultimate. That is why I hate on her (yes I admit I hate on her), because I believe anyone labeled great should be just that, and Beyonce is not and I have to this date not seen greatness from her.

*note* By the way, I have seen her live 3 times (not by choice), and was not ever impressed. She has a lot of energy, so I have to give it to her for that, but I never once thought, this is a legend in the making.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Bars? They play her at bars. The drag queens did a huge Beyonce special last night at Crews in downtown Toronto.

But as far as getting play on the dancefloor, she really doesn't outside of Crazy in Love.

lol

You have no argument...
What kind of limited vocal control does she have ???...
Go watch all her performances, she controls her voice perfectly ...

And oversinging has NOTHING to do with limited vocal...

Does she sing out of tune ? does she sing off key ? Is she out of breath ? Can't she hit high notes ?
Again, you claim something but without explanation...

You talk about limited control, but you don't even know how to explain that...

And bringing lyrics has nothing to do with her singing abilities, that's something different...

Her voice is by any mean limited ...

You just embarrassed yourself, my friend. Jill Scott? A woman who could incorporate melismas "AND" straight-lined Opera stylings/scalings into her songs when she's singing. A woman with a stronger voice who does more than just run the gamut when vocalizing. I believe the vibrato's top notch. Let's be serious. The rest of those women you mentioned might or might not be inferior to Beyonce. But, Jill Scott is superior, dude. Seriously.....

I know enough to know that it's not one-dimensional. Beyonce is interesting as a performer. Sometimes, better than her vocalising. She is by no means good enough to be as praised as you praise her, though. And, get Beyonce to sing in front of Jill Scott. Bet you she won't last long. Jill "IS" a vocalist, if nothing else. That's a nutty assessment! She surely didn't receive notice for her instrument-playing skills (If those exist on her aptitude propaganda.). lol
