For those who don't know, this is Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Thom Bell also can be added with them as an induction.

They definately deserve to be in but they will probably induct someone like Shitney first when it comes time for her chance. lol

Damn that!!! disbelief Madonna & Janet needs to go in the HOF first (and on the same year at that). cool

Actually, the white people that were fans of Grandmaster Flash were the ones from the New York punk rock scene. Deborah Harry made this point in one of her old interviews.

Plus Flash/Furious 5 were very flashy both clothes-wise and performance-wise so it's understandable why they're in versus the Sugar Hill Gang, who were like rap's version of the Beatles to Flash/Furious 5's Rolling Stones.

Even today, I bet Melle Mel would crush 50 Cent, Soulja Boy, T.I., .....hell most rappers of their young generation:

SHIT! None of these guys can't see Melle even on his worst day because he'll still crush them! They can't fuck with Melle, man.

With the musical impact Otis Redding & 40 Plus Years of Music, The Bar-Kays deserve to be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2008. They perform all the music for the movie "Shaft" and Issac Hayes. The Bar-Kays are one of the FUNKIEST BANDS in the Universe.
Larry Dodson is such a soulful, charismatic singer & James Alexander has been thumping the bass since his childhood with Otis Redding. Please show your love and appreciation for FUNKY LEGENDS LARRY DODSON & JAMES ALEXANDER.

I would be surprised if they got in.

Here's a list of HOF inductees. As you can see...VainAndy is probably correct in his assumption.

2007
Performer
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
Patti Smith
R.E.M.
The Ronettes
Van Halen

How the f*** did R.E.M. get into the R&RHOF?!? This is sick. The HOF committee will not put KISS in it, but they'll make room for R.E.M.

Sad.
disbelief

no no no! Hey now, don't hate on R.E.M. They had a significant impact on Alternative Rock and College Rock in the last 25 years.

Now you know they will induct little goodie two shoes as soon as she becomes eligible. She's exactly the type of sellout artist they like. If they could find a loophole, they will induct her right now. lol
