Free tracks on digital sampler (incl. Lewis Taylor) Hey guys-
Just wanted to let you know that HackTone Records just released a free digital sampler with 8 tracks, including two by Lewis Taylor - interestingly, The NY Times (among others) has compared his multi-instrumentalist, neo-soul-groove style to Prince and I know there are quite a few LT fans on here that might appreciate this! If you want to check it out & download the free songs, head on over to http://www.hacktone.com/s...mpler.html We'll keep the sampler up for about two weeks, so get the gettin' while the gettin's good! Thanks for the post.
What can you say about Lewis Taylor. Maybe the modern musical force that never was. Since I already had the LT tunes, what I found more interesting was the inclusion of R&B legend and co-creator of the original Muscle Shoals recording studio, Arthur Alexander. One of the first tunes to come out of that studio was Alexander's You Better Move On. Anna was another popular song (covered by The Beatles and others) written by Arthur Alexander that some may remember. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Yes - ARTHUR!
I can't express how happy we were to be able to release Arthur's work on Lonely Just Like Me: The Final Chapter. We really, really love Arthur's music - the release was definitely a labor of love for us - it includes a live version of "Anna," hotel room demos, Arthur's entire appearance on NPR's "Fresh Air," and all of Lonely Just Like Me. The man is a legend - glad you appreciated his appearance on the sampler! (As with most music now, there's a MySpace page where you can listen to more of the songs from the album - http://www.myspace.com/arthuralexander ) -Shawnté | |
