Pimp C was not a real Pimp, it was his stage name. I don't know if you're joking or not?

I guess Master P is a slave owner then...

was this guy really as influential as this article states?

He influened some of the rappers according to their comments. Sorry to see anyone pass but I kind of wish people would slow up with the legendary comments.

A comment like that is to be expected from you.....

People called them legends of the south long before Pimp C's death. What are you talking about? I follow rap/hip hop and any southern rapper will tell you how much UGK influenced southern rap.

Ask Outkast, David Banner, Youngbloodz, Eightball and MJG. There was even a rapper out Cleveland a few years ago that constantly referenced UGK and their influence in his songs.

You think they asked Jay-Z to be a part of Big Pimpin?!?!

These guys were known and respected. Maybe tomorrow I'll dig up comment made about them by various artists before Chads death.

NO...you would think Jay Z asked them cuz it's on HIS album duh

Makes sense to me. I mean, he wasn't having any trouble with the promotion of Vol.3. Although, granted, it wasn't one of his best. He was at the top of his game, popularity-wise and he appealed to a lot of people.

That's what Dragondayz mean...just stating that they didn't ask Jay-z to be a part of the song.. It's because who they were that Jay-z invited them to jump on the track

Oh this is just a whole lot of whole lotta. All you folks that are Tori Amos fan club members, or have lost all liking to today's music scene, disgruntled musicians can stop coming up in here and start getting your panties all in a ruffle over the definition of pimp and all that bullshh. Good lord, folks are so sensitive up in this peice smile

On another note, I've had that song "Let me See it" in my head all day. That song was so funny, and so nasty! wink
