So,did anybody buy that Luther Vandross box set? Any reviews? I just bought it for my sister,it'll be my Christmas present to her
There are two versions of this set: a small standard edition and an oversized long box edition.I only saw the small standard edition so that's the one I bought. Anyone else buy it yet? I'd like to know your thoughts.

I just checked out the reviews at Amazon.com and it seems that most fans have mixed feelings about it.

He was a wonderful singer, but there is no way he could have enough good songs for a boxed set.
Christgau said it best: he talked about how Luther used his singing voice as a way of covering up the weaknesses of many of his songs. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Bull! This box set is four CDs and yet it's still missing many of his best songs. Christgau said it best: he talked about how Luther used his singing voice as a way of covering up the weaknesses of many of his songs.
