Let's shine a light on some 'forgotten' bands

Brother To Brother

Brother To Brother released only three albums back in the seventies. Their first album included a cover of Gil Scott-Heron's 'In The Bottle'. Anyone hip to them?

Enchantment

The Detroit based Enchantment released their first album in 1976. The groups primary songwriter and lead singer E.J. Johnson has one of the most incredible falsettos I've ever heard. Anyone hip to Enchantment?

Freeez

I have to confess, I only own one album by Freeez, their debut (pictured). It's a fine slab of (primarily) instrumental brit-funk. Anyone hip to Freeez?

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I only know of Freeez's later electro-freestyle phase. I have their 12" singles of "I.O.U." and "Pop Goes My Love". I bet you hate those. smile

Stryper.

I don't think I've ever seen a thread about 'em around here.
I, myself, don't really remember them all that well.
I just remember that the first time I saw 'em, I thought they were the band W.A.S.P..
But that's only cuz that's what their costumes reminded me of. Wasps.

Allmusic.com describes the band as sounding like a cross between EWF and The Crusaders, so I know there are people here who want to check this out lol

No one on the Org remembers them or heard of them except for like 3 or 4 people (including my mom and my bother, some guy on the internet and the makers of "Homeschooled Kid Soul" from the 70's. They had one album, 3 single 45's before their album "An American Family" dropped. When it did their single went nowhere and they disbanded.

The album goes up for $100 at times on GEMM. However it's not worth that much money and most of the songs are ballads...good ones though. THe uptempo ones are cool.

I always thought their style was similar to Kool & The Gang pre JT era. When singing the choruses they some what try to harmonize like Theee! Ohio Players. I dig this album.

I found a fourth Brother To Brother album yesterday!
It wasn't listed in allmusic.com, Funk by Dave Thompson or Funky & Groovy Music Records Lexicon so I didn't know such an album existed. It was released in 1980. Gotta give it a spin today and see if it's as good as their other releases.

SoulAlive

Anybody remember the Pockets? R&B/funk band from the late 70s,produced by Verdine White of EW&F.

What about Sweet Thunder? Another R&B band from the late 70s,with some connection to The Ohio Players,if I'm not mistaken.
