Akon charged in NY fan-tossing case

http://music.yahoo.com/re...s/43542036

Akon is facing criminal charges after a fan said she suffered a concussion when the hip-hop star tossed a teenager off the stage and onto her in the concert crowd.

Akon, 34, is scheduled to appear in Fishkill Town Court on Monday morning for arraignment on a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, according to a news release Thursday from Police Chief Donald Williams.

Audience members said that a spectator lobbed something at Akon and that the singer asked the crowd to point out the culprit. A security guard picked out a 15-year-old and sent him up to the stage, where Akon hoisted him onto his shoulders and flung him into the crowd.

Rappers lie about their ages from time to time so they'll be able to make money from the 25 and under crowd.

Jay-Z, Nelly, 50,Nas,Jermaine Dupri and many more are pushing 40 and they don't lie about their age and still make money from the 25 and under crowd.

Well those guys have been in the game for a minute, some a hot minute. Akon is fairly new, debuting in 2004.

When those guys you named debuted, they were in their early to mid 20's not 31.

Akon, better watch himself.
At his age, he's likely to get a hernia doin' shit like that.
Somebody needs to tell him that fan-tossing is a young man's sport.

How do you stop a charge of a NY fan-tossing case?

You take away his credit card.

Exactly! Most of this current generation of new rappers are in their late 20's and STILL lie by claiming age 20-25.

It amazes me that in this day and age where everyone SUES and press charges for everything that an artist doesnt PROTECT themselves properly against things like that. Every artist knows that if you are going to bring someone up on stage you MUST have them sign a waiver, jesus christ this is LIVE performance 101! Anytime artists bring someone up they are open to this, so they pick the people before the show and have them sign waivers, so anytime you see a show like in Xtinas tour where she takes up some guy from the crowd and has him tied to the wall, do you think he hasnt SIGNED a waiver, of course he signed, when MYA does her live show and she gets to the part where she takes a guy from the crowd sits him down and gives him a lap dance, do you think he hasnt signed a waiver? of course he did, if you dont sign then they pick someone else. Sorry AKON that you got charged but you are just plain stupid and left yourself wide open for this.
