Amy's first CD "FRANK" was just released in the US recently...this CD is SICK!!!

I prefer this one 10 times over her Back To Black CD

I am so floored with this release. She puts lamies like Beyonce to shame!

Someone needs to kidnap her and whip her tail till she realize how she is wasting her life and talent away on drugs...

what do you think of the FRANK CD?

Always loved it. This is when I used to go see her all over the place doing jazz gigs on the festival circuit. I used to walk away from festivals having seen Erykah, Jill Scott, Jaguar Wright, and "Frank" era Amy all within one weekend and I would be in absolute soul sista-hen party heaven

Her voice has gone to ruin in this last year. She used to sing so beautifully and effortlessly in concert, and was a very gifted jazz singer once...very sad to see her downward spiral.

I saw a documentary of her signing to her label and her office audition up to the time she recorded B2B. She was so fresh faced and pure of talent...notes just tumbling out of her tiny little body like nothin'. Not much bigger than Teena Marie, but a big booming contralto all the same. A few of the scenes of her completely clean and focused in the recording booth were so amazing it gave you chills, it was like watching a completely different person than the Winehouse we know today. It also was sort of spooky too, because she "channels" while she sings (or at least she used to) ...

This is the Amy I dig/dug before all the US fame and constant stories. I really enjoyed this album--No Greater Love and Take the Box I adored.

I don't know the Back to Black album that well but Frank seemed a little lighter in mood.

I was going to start a thread about the same topic. "Frank", was Amy at her best and it seems like Back in Black was the record company's attempt to introduce the U.S. to Amy. In order to do so however, they had to make "Black", a more commercial in sound and appealing to the younger crowd. Frank, was Amy in the raw. I dont think had it been released first, it would have been as successful as Black.

I like both albums but they are pretty different from each other.

I bought Frank after hearing Back In Black this year and was all about "In My Bed" - then I found out it had a video and was a single!

I had a friend that mentioned it and said it was really good. I think I remember reading a review years ago. I might sample it.

Meanwhile, I just got "Back TO Black". Haven't really listened to it but I like all the "singles", especially "Tears Dry On Their Own".

I just bought this album because it has just recently become available in the U.S. but I think it's better than "Back To Black" as well. "In My Bed" and "Mr. Magic" are my faves .

I just sampled it and she sounds so much better on it than her new stuff, now I know why people like her, cause I thought she was way too overrated

It's pretty good, but not as good as Back To Black. She sounds like she's still searching for her style a little which she has nailed on Black.

Yea, it's really weird that they'd refer to her that way I mean she had tits thank God b/c the rest of her body was/is pretty square so she NEEDS tits to look like a woman (I know that sounds mean!) & lets face it, she loves those 60's looking dresses & they look a hell of a lot better on folks w/ some degree of meat on their bones. Speaking from the fashion point of view, one of the looks that used to work really well for her a few years ago were those Diane Von Faustenburg v-neck wrap dresses. They complimented her frame perfectly and made her legs look long and shapely. Yeah, I really like this album too. I can say I like it more than Back To Black. Not to metion Amy was type sexy when this came out like in 03'. I like these below
