Well, Usher (ok, his producer Just Blaze) sampled Dionne's voice for his song "Throwback".

THE SONG SAMPLED WAS "YOU'RE GONNA NEED ME" FROM THE 1973 LP "JUST BEING MYSELF"....PRODUCED BY HOLLAND/DOZIER/HOLLAND. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!! I HAVE IT!!!!
cool cool cool cool cool cool

Yeah I like Just Being Myself (1973) too!

Further proof that good pipes don't mean good ears. What she should have said was, "Mariah put your fucking ears on my old records and learn some restraint, heffa. And if you ever put your hair on an ironing board in a music video again I'll knock the stank off your cootie cat."

I for one love Dionne's discography. It's a shame she let her voice go to pot. Literally. As for her taste, well, I'd just take out Usher. Other than that, the psychic network (travesty) and a musical throwback in My Best Friend's Wedding are mere blips on her career.

Off topic question, but I don´t wanna start another thread about this.

Is this a remix of Sweetheart or its original version. It seems to be a little faster and a bit "different" to me. I really like it though

It is different. It's the "Lenny Bartoldo Unreleased Mix"

Man please. The non believers need to check out Dionne's "Deja Vu". Classic.

Hell yeah. That song is one of my favorite songs ever. You don't have to scream and wail to prove you can sing and this is proof right here.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

It's not official. You can't get it on the "Sweetheart" CD single.

That Lil Jon remix ain't bad either.

I love that I'm learning about it without even researching. What other details you got?

The song was actually a remake. It was a hit in 1986 for Rainy Davis (who also wrote it). Good song. Apparently she wrote it with Janet Jackson in mind.

This is a good one. I have never heard it before and I like it more than the original. What album is it on? And whoever did the video, chose some really nice pictures of Mariah.
