Why has this song continually been referenced in movies and programming eversince it became a hit a few years ago? I know popular music is referenced in other forms of art and media all the time, but I can't think of any other pop song of the past five years (off the top of my head) that continues to pop up in movies/shows as if it's some kind of classic.

Sort of side note: I heard this song, somewhere recently and thought, "I'd like to hear a guy cover this" But could come up with none that could pull if off convincingly. Does anyone come to anyone's mind that could do it? Not comically.

I liked the song better when it was called "Swass" and done by Sir Mix A Lot.

But yeah, it has that whole "temptress" thing that a man really can't get away with.

There has to be, at least, one. Maybe a rock version...or glam rock. If there's no one now, there will be soon. The overall male silhouette in fashion is slimming down drastically. When that happens, there's more male sexuality/sensuality in music too. I'm guessing something in 2008 will come close.
