Getting Naugty With Chaka How can you not buy an album with a lyric that says "I wanna get naughty, if you want me to?" I really enjoyed her 70's run with Rufus(though I still don't have all of the albums) Naughty had songs that I heard before, (the title track, Papillon and Cloud) and it being 6.99 I was like, wth, why not. I am loving this album, whoever produced it gives a great balance between soul and funk, squelchy fat bass and guitar over light synths and great great drumming, especially on tracks like Naughty. My favorite track though has to be "Nothing Gonna Take You Away" Rhodes notes collect to form a beautiful melody, and the soaring vocals and great sax fades into Clouds, Im certainly in clouds Chaka [Edited 11/29/07 7:16am] At this point in history, we have a choice to make

Great album!
Has a young 14yr old Whitney Houston on background vocals and Luther Vandross too! My favorite is "What You Did" and "Move Me No Mountain". I have this on CD and Vinyl. That's her daughter on the back too!

I was listening to the song SO NAUGHTY yrs ago when I first bought the album and I was like "MAN THIS SONG HAS A SICK BASS LINE." I go to look at the credits and the bass on that song was played by none other than a young MARCUS MILLER I heard someone say that upon release, Chaka dubbed the NAUGHTY album a disaster

One of my biggest regrets is not picking up her box set during a going out of business sale. I thought I could come back a few days later on payday and it would still be there and the sucker was gone She is one of my most favorite underated singers She doesn't get nearly the credit and recognition she deserves as a legend but she sure is one 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I love her to bits but she is so bitter about everything. Sometimes justified, sometimes not so.

I think viritually any cover of a Dionne song is inferior. I typically don't like Luther's remakes. No, not even A House is Not a Home.

I'm afraid of sounding like the bunch from that Patti LaBelle thread,,,,but don't they all when they get old? She's the angriest of them all and she always finishes her sentences with " OK? ". But really, I never followed her career like that in order to know where she's coming from or WHY she adopted this attitude. But anyway, back to the music part of the reason why I haven't check Dionne's work(other than her 60's compilation) is because the woman has a HUGE music catalog,,,its hard to know where to start(I'm so unfimiliar with her 70s work,,,and I'm trying as hard as I can to keep away from the 80s period, that was a ROUGH decade for Patti musically).
