Will The Spice Girls Tour Again After This Tour?

I've been thinking about something lately, and the best example I can find to use is the Spice Girls. So here it is:

Will the Spice Girls tour again after this tour?

The reason I ask is because, they are releasing a Greatest Hits CD after only 3 albums (2 as a whole group.) And it's like, they are reuniting for a fun tour to remember the past, but also releasing a Greatest Hits album. From the press I've read, the album is kind of a Spice Girls sendoff.

Are the gals really friends? I mean, won't they tour again and release more albums as whole group if their friendships are so strong?

Furthermore, they have great chemistry on stage and the fans eat them up. I guess the bigger questions I'm trying to ask at some level are...

After only 3 albums, a greatest hits album and farewell tour? What will these ladies be doing career wise when they are 40/50/60?

And it isn't just the Spice Girls. The Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Creed, Matchbox Twenty, all released Greatest Hits after 3 albums. Is this a standard practice? Did I miss something? I thought an artist/band should have a very powerful catalog before doing such a thing.

Not that I want every band to be like The Rolling Stones and James Brown and be performing till they drop, but it saddens me at some level that the pop groups from my childhood are acting like they are walking away from everything so to speak.

Its hard to say, i personally dont think they will, but i never really thought they would tour again. As for the greatest hits thing, that really tends to be a label thing, especially if a group breaks up and still owes albums on their contract thats why that happens, also if a group reforms labels want something to coincide with that, and the other would be to just cash in on someone at a certain height, im sure next fall we'll see "The Best of Rihanna" hit the stores, labels want the $$ quick becomes artists come and go so quick now, you are even lucky you can get a 3 album catalog from anyone anymore.

Of course they'll tour after this one.

All 5 had reservations about the tour. Vicki, Mel C, Mel B are the loudest about not wanting it to be more than this tour.

I think it might give a boost into the solo carears of Emma, Geri and Mel C. I hope Mel B get something out of it and Vicki is too worried about being a mum and her fashion line.

Posh is too preoccupied with herself to ever tour with the others again I think. She said she's only going on tour to impress her kids.

1. After the Greatest Hits/Farewell Tour, The Spice Girls will never do another tour (until further notice?). Also, it's been confirmed that they will not be making another original album.

2. The girls are still friends. But sometimes too often, the problems within the music industry would test the limits of friendship (especially if the issues are money & leadership).

3. A girl group lasting 3 career albums isn't a surprise at all. The average girl group would be bless if they can get only one career album (EXAMPLES: Ex-girlfriends, Seduction, Blackgirl, Madame X).

Exactly it is more difficult with a girl group than with a regular band. Despite success groups like EXPOSE just got to a 3rd album, despite touring now they dont have plans to record at the moment, The Cover Girls also, they got to 4 albums but they had a few line-up changes here and there, also now are touring. Alot times media will try to create the friction themselves, case in point would be Girls Aloud, despite their amazing success and rampant rumours and troubles, they have been able to now get to their fifth album (fourth studio) in an enviroment that every other day has them breaking up.

Also after the recent miming on TV Shows people are off loading their £75 tickets on Ebay for around £20.
