Its all up to the labels financials at that point, if it comes out before the end of February than all the marketing done early on gets lumped into 2007's fiscal reports, if they wait till March or April than it can be a fresh start for 2008. Def Jam/Universal may want to wait till 2008's fiscal year starts March 1st since sales were down 20-30% this year across the board. I dont doubt what Janet has at this point its more about what the label will undertake, these are two projects that have to be win-win for them, Janet is coming off a major slump in sales and its her lable debut and for Mariah this is then end of her contract at Def Jam as this is her 3rd release with them, so im sure they want this to do well and re-sign her. I've heard zero buzz on the Mariah project. I guess I got the unfinished vibe (as with Madonna) when it was pushed back. She's been working on it for a while now. Well, she never seems to shut up about it while promoting her new perfume.

If they've got any sense, they'll minimise Janet's input as much as possible. But just don't expect the credits to tell you that. First and foremost, what's going to redeem Janet in my eyes is feeling that she is actually engaged in her own career. And I've felt that less and less starting with All For You. From material selection, to interviews, to tours, etc. The team can't do that for her. She has to act like SHE cares, before I can do the same. And I really do want to. I feel kind of the opposite. After Rene left I feel Janet took over much more of the songwriting, at least lyrically, than before, and it was a change for the worse. Unfortunately, this coincided with Jma & Lewis losing their edge production-wise which made a double whammy of shitness. As for Janet's enthusiasm I can assure you it's linked directly to her success. If the team is on point and getting results you'll see her get enthused again. It's when things aren't going well that her enthusiasm wanes. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

It was seriously her lying naked in a puddle somewhere with a lot of purple floating about, and then they had a few TV screens up with a video playing and her doing the whisper-voice thingy.

Yeah even MIMI was pushed back, ive heard people say their albums done and even people have heard tracks and the thing never comes out. Its all timing and spacing with labels, they could all be ready to come out but the label decides who and what comes out first. As far as Janet coming out well when i see it i will believe it, just because a track goes to radio January 4th doesnt mean a thing, if the track fails then the album gets bumped back, the label is not going to put the record out to "deaf ears" they have too much invested. I find it hard to believe that she didn't have much to give after the 3 year break between All For You and DamitaJo or the 2.5 year break between DamitaJo and 20 Y.O. What on earth could she possibly offer now, after a year and a half. She needs to go away for awhile, regroup, prioritize, figure out something to sing about, etc. The less time between albums, the worse they get.

Can Janet fans at least be alittle happy that she's put forth effort to bring forth some new music? All artists' don't have a message in their lyrics all of the time! Hell, even Prince doesn't? Some said she should get rid of Jam and Lewis. Get some new blood to produce her music. Fact of the matter is, no matter what Janet does or doesn't do allot of folks won't be satisfied. But, hey theirs always other artists with messages in the lyrics, those that write, produce, compose, and arrange their own music and don't talk about jack shit in their lyrics. Enjoy who you will. Poor woman can't catch a break for shit! I for one, maybe a few others feel the same as I do am very happy to receive good news about Janet. Definitely looking forward to the new album and single.
