Does this surprise you? To me it points to something that alot of people don't mention. I think the reason why George Clinton is on so many rap albums is not because he is a legacy artist. It's because he is so free spirited that alot of times he isnt asking for a fee to be a featured guest or to do vocal background vocals.

I was honestly surprised to see George Clinton being promptly displayed on 2 tracks on The Eight Diagrams. I began thinking maybe the reason is to put some of the zany spirit that the ODB would have done. But Clinton was more of a wordsmith than most and this is kind of interesting to hear. But I still stand by my theory that the reason George Clinton is on so many albums is not out of outright respect or paying hommage to his/PFunk's legacy , its because there is virtually no red tape to be tangled in.

But you gotta admit to have Clinton on Wu Tang's family lp is one of those double take moments. I think it's cool anyway you slice it though. But Clinton
on Tar Pitz it's like they didn't know when to edit his adlibs. Just thought I'd mention that to G.C. fans and maybe start a discussion on this topic.

It's no return to past glories, but it's better than Iron Flag. I'd call it a tentative return which bodes well for the future ... but it'll probably be their last album because Raekwon and Ghostface have both gone on record saying how much they hate it.
