I Try vs. I Try Sup Yall,
I was listening to Will Downing's version of "I Try" and it got me to thinking about the original by, Angela Bofil. I kinda like Will's version, only because the lyrics and the sentiment behind it, sounds interesting coming from a man. What do you guys think? Incidently, I find it ironic that the both of them have been sidelined by illness. Angie, by a stroke and Will by a muscle disease. I really like them both, but IF I just HAD to choose, I think I'd go with Will Downing. Yeah, it's sad about both of them having such major health issues. At least Will is still able to record. He has something new either out or coming out soon. Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

Lord knows that's one of my all time favorite slow jams. Has gotten me through many a break-up since I was a teenager, that song. I'd probably go with Angela's version simply for the sentamentality factor. Bless them both, though...

It's not bad tho'...It's just one of those songs, that the original artist leaves little to no room for improvement.
