Why'd you post pictures - did you think no one would know who she was?! omg I don't want to give the impression that I'm familiar with her entire body of work (I'm not), but Yeah, I like some of it. Some, as in, a few songs I've heard on the radio before.

I just took my mom to see her & she was fantastic biggrin Her voice is still awesome, sounds good as on record. It's easy to forget how many great songs she had but there's a lot. I always liked her from a distance but the show gave me a new appreciation for her. & she looks fantastic! smile

I love me some Anita Baker!!! Sometimes when you need those moments when you need to relax, reflect or contemplate life, it's either her or Luther for me:

-Ain't No Need To Worry (My very favorite)
-Same Ole Love (Used to be my favorite til I heard Ain't No Need to Worry)
-Sweet Love
-Giving You the Best That I Got
-Caught up in the Rapture
-Body and Soul (came out when I was a pre-teen, I remember one of my friends said "It sounds like she's saying "I'll be your ho." biggrin Lord.)
-Just Because
-You Bring Me Joy

I've never liked "Angel" of "I Apologize" much.

Anita Baker could sing the alphabet and I would think it was amazing! I just love her. I saw her in concert this summer and her voice was incredible live. Also, I have to say that she seemed like such a nice lady, she was so likeable and related to the audience very well. My fave songs from her are "Joy", "Fairy Tales", "Giving You The Best I got", "No One In The World", "Body & Soul", "Same Ole' Love", and much more. She has such a unique voice, what a talented lady she is.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

I feel that way now about her. When Songstress was released, I was really in2 her. I even was in2 her until after "Compositions". I think I fell out of love with her because radio played the HELL out of her stuff until about 2 years ago. Come on, the woman only had 5 BIG albums and urban radio played EVERY SONG ON THE ALBUMS!! UGH!!!

If I hear "Sweet Love" one more time, I'll SCREAM!

To be truthful, I find her music to be more boring than Shitney Houston's. I don't have a problem with Anita like I do with Shitney though because Shitney influenced so many people for the worst. However, going by just the sound of the music alone, I turn the station a lot quicker when Anita comes in because she's much more boring. At least Shitney had attempts at weak uptempo songs that I could make fun of so I did get some entertainment out of her. Anita was just dull through and through.

I love her 'Rapture' album love Every song on there is heavenly...it's the perfect Quiet Storm album. My favorite songs are "Mystery","No One In The World" and "Same Ole Love".

Her follow-up album 'Giving You The Best That I Got' had a few gems too..."Good Love","Just Because" and "You Belong To Me",but 'Rapture' is her masterpiece.

Those are the only two albums I have by her.I wasn't too crazy about the albums that came after.

I absolutely love Anita Baker. & as previously stated, the Rapture album does kick ass, but a lot of her albums do. She made an album in 2003 called 'My Everything' which was also very good, she still sounds the same, and I'm waiting for her to come back through my way so that I can see her live.
Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!
