I have the single for this song and their next timeless classic, Baby, don't forget my number!

Speaking of MV... it is ironic that when the song Blame it on the Rain video came out... I was SINCERELY skeptical. I didn't believe that that voice came out of that little pretty yellow man with blue eyes. boxed

I know this is a stereotype... but a Gerald Levert type voice seldom come out of the high yellow Prince type or Smokey Robinson type... they almost always sing falsetto.
The Debarge brothers also come to mind.

sorry but that is my opinion

Where are all the "who-oh-oh"'s and "Na-na-na"'s? confused

You people need more Michael Cretu "Samurai"'s, or "Self-Control"'s on your lists.

It's too damn hard to make a top ten list because there were too many good songs. Here are a few of my alltime favorites (although my list may different tomorrow).....

Head - Prince
Something About You - Ebonee Webb
Traffic Jammer - The Barkays
So Ruff, So Tuff - Roger
Funtown, USA - Rafael Cameron
Hard To Get - Rick James
Be Yourself - Cameo
Your Wish Is My Command - Lakeside
I'm Ready - Kano
You're The One For Me - D Train
Andy is a four letter word.

ahhh, VA is here... I wondered what would be your list since you really love the funk... and we mucst be close in age... because I remember and jammed to much of the same music you talk about.

I don't remember these particular songs... but know just about every artist
well except Kano and Rafael Cameron.

I will have to look them up and the other selections to hear them.

Loved Lakeside headbang I have their vinyl (vinyl...eek ) album "Lakeside"

You would definately remember Kano's "I'm Ready" if you heard it again. It was an uptempo jam from 1980 that sounded very spacey and futuristic with an electronic robot voice that kept saying....."I'm ready, I'm ready, just for you". In the early 1990s, Tag Team sampled the intro of the song all throughout their hit "Whomp, There It Is".

Do you remember the very Prince sounding "Something About You" by Ebonee Webb? You're a good one if you remember that one.

Whoops. I just realised "Who's That Girl" has "la-la-la"s, not "na-na-na-"s, but who's counting?
