Money Changes Everything

Goddamn do I love this song, especially Cyndi Lauper's version of it. Unfortunately, it was the smallest hit from "She's So Unusual", and wasn't exactly a huge hit for the Brains.

They shake your hand
And they smile and buy you a drink
They say we'll be your friends
We'll stick with you until the end
But everybody's only looking out for themselves
And you say
"Well, who can you trust?"
I'll tell you it's just
Nobody else's money

nod She's got some wild ass makeup on her face, and she just totally freaks out. Kicks the garbage can across the stage and then gets in it and flies over the audience. cloud9

She's coming to Hawaii. Different island, but I would maybe buy the plane ticket to Oahu to see her in Waikiki. nod

Just "discovered" her earlier this year. Had a hardcore phase with her for a few weeks. It was awesome.

I wouldn't say that's true at all. Actually, since the '80s ended, I'd say "Time After Time" has surpassed it as her most remembered song.

FWIW, I'm more of an "All Through the Night"/"The Goonies 'R Good Enough"/"She Bop" kind of guy myself. I'm not really a fan of her "What's Going On," but I love her other covers.

yep agreed. that song is everywhere, more often.

did u get her last album, "the body acoustic"?

1. "Money Changes Everything" with Adam Lazzara
2. "All through the Night" with Shaggy
3. "Time after Time" with Sarah McLachlan
4. "She Bop"
5. "Above the Clouds" with Jeff Beck
6. "I'll Be Your River" with Vivian Green
7. "Sisters of Avalon" with Ani DiFranco & Vivian Green
8. "Shine
9. "True Colors
10. "Water's Edge" with Sarah McLachlan
11. "Fearless"
12. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" with Puffy AmiYumi

she covers herself...lol

its pretty good for a mellow chillout CD..

I'd take "What's Going On" off that list. They didn't really nail that song until about half way through the True Colours tour, when they finally got the arrangement right. As for the studio version, it was a little bit robotic.

Love this song. "Money Changes Everything" rocks so hard I'm sure it's illegal.
