'Licorice' is NOT the title of Madonna's new album
Today all the press is reporting that Madonna's new album is officially titled 'Licorice'. That's absolutely untrue, and that's why we decided not to publish those reports, despite tons of your submissions. As we reported last week, the album is tentatively titled 'Give It To Me'. How do these false rumors get started? Yesterday Larry Flick at Sirius Radio aired the demo of "Candy Shop" and "The Beat Goes On",which leaked months ago.He said the official title of the album is 'Licorice'.The news has been reported at Billboard.com and so the international press is now talking about it. source: DrownedMadonna [Edited 12/10/07 7:13am]

EXCLUSIVE DETAILS ON "GIVE IT TO ME",THE TITLE TRACK OF MADONNA'S NEW ALBUM
Madonnatribe sources can bring more exclusive news about the title track of Madonna's new album."Give It To Me" is a song produced by Pharrell Williams and it's a very catchy, uptempo track that is reminiscent of of early Madonna tracks from the "pre-Madonna era" such as "Love On The Run".The fans who were worried that this album would be too hip-hop would be happy to know that it's very 80s in its structure and it's pure Madonna.A person who apparently heard the song said it sounds quite "cartoonish". The "give it to me" phrase has nothing to do with a supposed "sexual content" as runored on a few Madonna forums, but it's said in the sense of "I'll handle the situation for you". A male voice (Pharrell?) is also singing backing vocals on part of the second verse and Madonna reprises a couple of lyrics from "The Beat Goes On" on this one. The break is very strange, the song basically stops suddenly while Madonna says "Don't stop it".The male voice says "to the left,to the right". This song would make a great single.

EXCLUSIVE DETAILS ON "ACROSS THE SKY",A SONG FROM MADONNA'S NEW ALBUM
Madonnatribe has received more info about one of the songs on Madonna's new album. One of the five songs we first reported on November 18 from the Timbaland/Timberlake sessions is a nice, midtempo love song with classic Madonna lyrics and a theme/concept reminiscent of the idea behind "Like A Virgin". "Across The Sky" tells the story of a woman who is quite disenchanted by love,a woman who knows deception,a woman who lied and has been lied to quite alot in her life.A woman who admits she is not a saint but who finally feels like a new person now that she has found a new love in her life. She is ready to travel "across the sky" with her man, poetically holding his hand in hers. Musically, the song contains alot of acoustic guitars and has a very catchy chorus.Justin Timberlake is "oohing" on backing vocals. The song will be perfect for a third single release from the album. Fans who might be worried that Madonna has been looking for much new musical directions with this album can be reassured that she has re-invented and adapted that genre to her own unique style.

it's funny how the press actually believed that this was real.I can't believe that Billboard even fell for it,lol. Why didn't they simply confirm this "news" with Madonna's camp, before they reported it?

Interestingly enough, she collaborated with Patrick Leonard on a few songs for the musical, including "The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" which will be on the new album. It's been years since those two worked together. oh, a musical makes much more sense. Especially if someone else wrote the story and she wrote the music for it. I dunno...I've heard her literary efforts were not successful. She discussed the musical in her November 2005 Rolling Stone cover story/interview.If I remember correctly, the story is about a woman in a coma who is dreaming/reminiscing about her life and all the things she has done. The musical sequences are flashbacks from her past.It sounds intriguing but somehow,I don't think Maddy would have been able to pull this off It's cool that we are getting to hear the songs that she wrote for it.

I posted a response there (I have been a member for a while) saying how dissapointed I am that she blamed Sirius, not the show or him specfically. From Sirusbackstage.com OutQ’s Larry Flick Had the Wrong Material, Girl and Flubs Madonna’s Album Title and Release Date. Larry Flick from Sirius OutQ has reportedly given inaccurate information on Madonna’s new album. On Thursday, he made news around the world when he announced that the title would be Licorice, and would be released in Late April. According to the UK’s Channel 4, Madonna has denied that the album would be called Licorice, and said that the release date was wrong. Liz Rosenberg, a spokesman for Madonna’s label Warner Records, said “Sirius does not know what they are talking about.” BTW: That’s the best I can do for punny headlines. Hopefully it is a one-time deal Posted by BenDee on Monday, December 10th, 2007 at 4:36 pm.

I just saw Robster (the fan who created the fake 'Licorice' artwork) posting on another site that I visit. He seems taken aback by the fact that his fake creation is getting all this attention He explained how he did it,and how shocked he is that the media accepted it as the real thing.
This is something that I enjoy alot: the crazy pre-release hype that occurs whenever Madonna releases a new album.I love the fake tracklists, the outrageous misinformation, the so-called "eyewitness" details, the inevitable pre-release controversy that always happens, the false descriptions of how the album will sound, the constant battles between two fansites (DrownedMadonna and Madonnatribe) to see who can get the "exclusive" news out there first, lol.

It seems Timbaland confirmed on z100 that the new single is the Justin duet (supposedly "4 Minutes To Save The World") and it would come out in January!

Maybe Madonna should watch TV and read the news and stay informed...Duran Duran's album tanked! Hate to make this a Janet thread, but it's funny that if asked a year ago who I was more excited about hearing a new album from it would have been Madonna...now, after hearing "Feed Back", it's certaintly Janet whose last effort was her weakest. Maybe Janet is hungry right now and could come back strong while Madonna is certainly very comforable!

Madonna doesn't really have anything to prove. She's done okay in the past few years, with a well-received dance album ('Confessions') that became a global smash and a hugely successful world tour. All she needs to do is deliver a hot album with some cool beats and fans will buy it,but I don't see her new album being a "make or break" situation for her.Like you said, she is "comfortable",career-wise. Janet,on the other hand,is the one who has to prove that she can bounce back from Nipplegate and two lackluster albums.

There are five final songs that are produced by Justin Timberlake and Timbaland and that had their final mixing at "Hit Studios Miami" last week. There's a song called "4 Minutes To Save The World" and it's an upbeat and very catchy hip-hop Madonna/Justin Timberlake duet. Another song is called "Across The Sky". It has lots of acoustic guitars, the flow is very much like "The Power Of Goodbye" and sounds like a real hit. Madonna is hitting really high notes there while Justin Timberlake is on back vocals. The third song is titled "Dance Tonight", a funky mid-tempo tune, yet another Madonna/Justin duet, think "Rock Your Body" by Justin with the claps and everything, this apparently has the same structure as well. "Even The Devil Wouldn't Recognise You" is a fourth song. Amazing ballad, very "Cry Me A River" by Justin Timberlake in it's structure and Justin on back vocals on this one too. The fifth song is named "Miles Away" and we have been told this is the THE BEST of the whole bunch. A hit written all over it. Full of acoustic guitars, beautiful uptempo song ad Justin on back vocals again. The song structure may recall "Love Profusion", but it's much better. From what we (madonnatribe.com) have been reported, there's no need to worry about Madonna's new album. It's going to be an incredible album that will mark the year of her 50th birthday in such a fantastic way. It will be interesting to see how Madge's latest CD effort fairs. I'm pretty sure lots of fans are looking forward to the video and possilbe tour to follow.

She probably replaced it with a better song (or a song that she thinks is better).Considering all the tracks that have been recorded for this project (over 22),there's no excuse for her not to give us B-sides or exclusive downloads on her site.
