my vote goes to the muscle shoales band that back up the stax artists back in yhe day.

Didn't Muscle Shoals mostly back up non-southern Stax artist?

Aretha's great soul hits that garnered her renown wererecorde at Muscle Shoals by a bunch of redneck southern white boys.

Aretha Franklin - Baby Baby Baby (Since You Been Gone)
Aretha Franklin - Chain Of Fools
Aretha Franklin - Do Right Woman, Do Right Man
Aretha Franklin - I Never Loved A Man (The Way That I Love You)
Aretha Franklin - Respect
Aretha Franklin - Think

Add these fom Bobby Womack as well
Bobby Womack - Harry Hippie
Bobby Womack - That's The Way I Feel 'Bout 'Cha
Bobby Womack - Woman's Gotta Have It

nod Valid Point. When I saw the documentary for the Memphis recording, I noticed that all that all the gentlemen were Caucasian. They also were present for Aretha's & some of Bobby's recordings as well.
