Go ahead don't see Prince when he comes to your town next time. This will leave a ticket for someone who wants to see a good performance and is not worrying about cease and desist letters.

Twice, the last time being 96 in San Jose when 12 Play was still hot. Aaliyah was there, too. Not to speak ill, but she sounded HORRIBLE live. Just awful. Definitely a "studio act." R. Kelly on the other hand sounded okay and was pretty entertaining. I remember at the end of hids set he dropped his trousers to reveal some silky red boxers.

First time I've heard an orger other than myself tell the truth about Aaliyah. Girl couldn't sing live to save her life, and like Janet her performances were all the chreographer's work. Plus she had zero personality, but to hear folks round here talk you'd think she was a cross between Aretha Franklin and Mother Theresa. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

You are on Prince's payroll, aren't you? Come on, you can tell us! A "fan" voicing their opinion would have stopped at the last comment but you couldn't so you just rephrased it. Not fan like but very much PR like. Interestingly enough, after looking over your other comments, they seem a bit employee-sque to me as well.

I saw him waaay back in the day (mid 90s)--MC Lyte, LL Cool J, and him opened for Janet on her Janet tour. (It was right after LL's Mr. Smith album came out.) I don't even remember what songs R. Kelly had out at the time, I just remember before he came out on stage they showed him on the big screens and all this smoke and coughing (like he was smokin' up). Then he came out and kept talkin/singing, "Ladies....who wants me to take off my clothes?" My friend and I were like
Bottom line: I'd say don't waste your money.

Rather, "Anyone justify continuing to give R. Kelly their money yet?"
He has a well-documented history of preying on young girls, and the music-buying public continues to bankroll him. I don't get it.

Interestingly enough, after looking over your other comments, they seem a bit employee-sque to me as well. The point is that given a choice between an elite performer/musician (when he performs, that is) over a marginally talented artist known for copying whatever style that is hot, she would lean for Prince than R. Kelly. At least with Prince, you're getting originality as well as a better quality act. THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

It's your choice to make, but I personally wouldn't choose to see R. Kelly over Prince. It's not like R. Kelly is better musician or singer, and if anything R. Kelly is likely to have taken an idea from one of Prince's concert performances and try to incoporate it into his routine. Phunkdaddy might remember I don't remember but i'm with the NWO on this one. I do not care for R."I pissed on you"Kelly either. Sadly i had to go to work last night and his tour bus had just left the arena in downtown charlotte. Then the clown goes to my hometown in columbia, sc next month. I would not go to see his show live if i had a free ticket. I would scalp it like a mutha. Don't laugh at my funk

Sorry it is called taste. No, that was my point. I told you good for you to stay home and let someone have a seat that prefers a good performer.
Your choice to stay home. Is great for another concert goer. Actually, neither of your comments had anything to do with R Kelly, so they also had nothing to do with taste preference. Try again! [Edited 11/20/07 7:40am]
