Anyone ever see R. Kelly Live??????? Has anyone here ever seen R. Live? I'm debating going. He is coming to my town and it sounds like it should be an interesting show.
I've seen a few clips of his past live shows on YouTube. Anyone see him life? Can anyone tell me what to expect set-wise? MJ Fan 1992-Forever

He's mainly a studio act. If you saw his live DVD then he rushes through clips of his many hits, often on DAT. Worth seeing but a bit lazy live. Glug, glug like a mug | |

Yeah, Kells basically go through the emotions during live performances. Some people dig it but I just don't. | |

I've seen him twice..once when he opened for Salt N Pepa at Radio City and then when he Co-Headline with Jay-Z at Madison Square...not missing anything if you never see him Live | |

The DVD I saw, there was a section where he was supposed to bring some lady on stage to perform "Seems Like You're Ready" with. Well before this, he went on this singing rant about how stage handlers were telling him to tone down his act and that he basically said to them "fuck you", lol. Well, after that, he was supposed to bring a woman on stage or so the women in the audience thought but instead he kept the stage to himself, lol. His performance of "Seems Like You're Ready" was actually a comedy of errors, lol. | |

No!! I had tickets to see him when he was touring with JayZ but he canceled at the last minute so I gave my ticket to a friend of my daughters! I still think he owes me a show but I'll be damned if I pay for another one!!  | |

I have no idea why someone would think R. Kelly would be a good live performer considering the marginal, made-for-studio music he makes. Given his inability to create something original, why wouldn't that extend to the stage?
