I'm not talking about formula or carbon copies or wanting Prince to do what he did years ago. Obviously I know Prince WAS an amazing writer (or was it really Wendy?) That's why I consumed his music to begin with . WAS.


Prince hasn't written an evocative song in some time. If anyone's trying too hard or penning rote, cookie cutter songs that are hollow and emotionless currently it's Prince.


Thank God I can listen to Alicia. Her vocal presence moves me.
When I listen to her or Steve Tyler or even Lenny the other night I think... wow I wish Prince could move me like this NOW.


If you all think Prince is writing lyrics and delivering songs that grip you emotionally then I'm very happy for you. Rejoice.

They do look better together...much better than Alicia and Usher in that 'My Boo' video.
