Watch this clip of MJ performing Dirty Diana from the Bad Tour in 1988. Its pretty obvious that hes forgotten the words starting at about 30 seconds into the video. What do you think?

Well in 1988, Dirty Diana was still new to him as it was released in 1987. If he forgot the words to I Want You Back or Rock With You, I'd be shocked.


Every artist has forgotten words to their songs, hell some artist (Chaka Khan, Lupe Fiasco) forget words to other artist songs (Stevie Wonder, Tribe Called Quest)

duaaah he does that all the time... and mumbles and makes up stuff. and sometimes he might even cuss... I remember he said "don't come around "S***" word He was singing beat it.. and forgot his words... but i like when he forgets and makes up stuff.. cause you can see what he is thinking...

I guess lots of artists forget the words to their own songs. Its fun when MJ does it though because his adlibs are hillarious. He sounds like he has to pee really badly and he's just trying to get through the song. Shamone!

Unlike many other artist, at least he's actually singing live (back then, anyway) and still sounds great. I was at a Patti Labelle show at Club Shelter in NYC when she not only forgot the lyrics to "Yo Mister", but had a cheat sheet for other songs she sang that night. It happens.
