Grammy Nominations released on 12/6 any predictions?

Well its a big year for the GRAMMYS, its their 50th show, they kick it off with a Book, clothing line and a Tv show of highlights on November 30th. Followed by this years nominees announced on 12/6 and the telecast on Feb 10th 2008 in LA.

So org members, any predictions or hopes in categories? The nomination period is for albums and SINGLES that were released during October 1,2006 to September 30th 2007.

As long as Maroon 5 get nominated, I'll be happy lol

Do you think we'll be seeing any glittery socks grace the stage? It's the 50th Grammies after all. It's the ideal time and place for Mike to show us why he's still king.

Michael showing up is as likely as Britney singing Opera lol

I predict that I won't be watching.
I could be wrong, though.

I'm not making any predictions. I would never have guessed last year that "My Humps" would have gotten nominated for a grammy, much less won. neutral

Thicke is probably a shoe in for some nominations though i dont think the album will be up for it, it could be.

As for others, well its hard to say, I would say bruce for album of the year but he missed the cut-off by 3 days. though i think his single "radio nowhere" will get nominated wherever possible. I would say Amy Whinehouse, though at this point do they even want her to possibly show up on national tv ? All i know is if they do and it turns into a freak show with her slurring an acceptance speech or cursing, then they have no right to say anything about Britney anymore, since its really the same thing, using someone for ratings.

As for some others that i'd like to see or think will get nominated.

Paul McCartney- its long overdue and he is on a streak with good albums
Gwen Stefani- like her solo stuff or not theres no denying they will nominate
Fergie- I like fergie though i know most hate her, she also is an industry fave
Beyonce- do you doubt her being nominated
Ryan Adams, Wilco,John Mellencamp- all did solid albums and never get acknowledged.
Joss Stone- very likely, the grammys have liked so far when nominating.
Alicia Keys- the single made it out in time for nominating
Kanye West- most likely
Carrie Underwood- her single also made it out in time
Katharine Mcphee- my choice for best new artist, despite the fact she came from Idol which has helped in years past, she actually sings well and she has industry backing her since she was on idol its all connected.
Eddie Vedder- dont doubt this one
Angie Stone- possibly

I know im forgetting things but those are a few that pop out to me, not all my choices but i think you will see most of them in the nominations, and if Bruce somehow gets through that deadline, expect to see the Bruce Grammys.

no they are announced on the 6th a week after that highlights special. The AMA noms are out there and airing this sunday (but does anyone realize this show anymore?) Duran Duran is on it this year, no comment on that idea.
