But, now, I'm ashamed of the guy because the things of which he lets come out of his mouth are not to be taken seriously, anymore. Timbaland is no more self-absorbed than any other celebrity, including Prince. Timb has a huge catalog of music and has had more "hits" than Prince. Prince only has to produce himself. Its a different game when you have to produce others and it HAS TO SELL. Prince never had to deal with that music business - the new music business, that is. Prince has had free reign to pretty much do what he wanted up until the 90s. When Timb came on the scene, it was produce or die and he's been doing that. I can't hate on his track record, just the depth of his material. Then again, he's in the business of making hits and that is a different matter than just making art. Its much more constrictive and requires much more trickery to be creative. To top it off, you're limited to about 3:30 to do it EVERY TIME. Imagine if all of Prince's songs were cut to 3:30. Timb's run is about up but he has been going strong for years. Its not odd to get caught up in the hype. Its the first step down. | |

That'd be a very unfortunate end. But, with him carelessly stealing people's music for samples/whole beats and all the while, being unapologetic about it as well as carrying on with the attitude that he does; he's gonna end up like Teddy Riley did in the Late 90's..... | |

I don't see why he should admit defeat when he hasn't "lost" anything this year or last. He's had the two most successful years of his career. I've read a few interviews of his and he seems fairly normal to me. And the reason we're all here, Mr "I Am Music" Prince, isn't exactly the world's most humble musician ever.
